How it all began
We Say Grow is a family partnership and a culmination of three generations of gardening passion and expertise.
"Chuck it in the ground and see..."
Chris and Elle approached their own garden with this simple motto. They believe that even if you’re not sure what you’re doing and don’t have much time, creating a unique, beautiful, low-maintenance garden is totally possible.
With busy careers in textile design and graphic design, plus a young family, they didn’t have the luxury of doing it any other way. Through a bit of trial and error—and with Elle’s mum's tough, easy-to-grow plants and tips—they learned that with the right plants, they could create a stress-free, home-enhancing space without much difficulty.
Gardening has always been in Elle’s DNA. Coming from two generations of artists and horticulturists — her mum; Claire Austin and her grandfather, the renowned rose breeder David Austin.
Over the years, Chris and Elle saw many of their friends feeling intimidated by gardening—figuring out plant combinations, learning Latin names, making expensive and stressful trips to garden centers—all of it appeared exhausting and stressful. They wanted to make it easier.
With Elle’s horticultural roots calling her back, they decided it was time to share their relaxed “give-it-a-go” approach. They believe that with the right attitude, a bit of enthusiasm, and Claire’s expert knowledge and great plants, anyone can create the garden they’ve always wanted.

Chris and Elle wanted to share the inside knowledge they were given - Claire Austin’s 40 years of horticultural knowledge and great plants - so they’ve teamed up!
All We Say Grow plants have been approved by Claire and come to you via the beautiful valleys, pure water and rich soil of Mid Wales.
